Confident, connected, contributing. Chatting with Isla of @GDA_online

At Mind Waves, we’re incredibly lucky to hear about all sorts of brilliant work to support wellbeing across Glasgow.

Today, we were invited along to Glasgow Disability Alliance to hear more about their new website and brand. GDA is a disabled people’s organisation, run for disabled people, by disabled people. GDA is something of a role model for Mind Waves- they have 3500 disabled members (and counting) .

Although their focus is pan-disability, where we work on mental health and wellbeing, the principles are very similar. They put real people and real experience at the heart of everything they do. And they believe that bringing people together to learn and build social connections is the best way to build a strong movement.

We caught up with Isla McIntosh of GDA to hear more about what their new tagline “Confident, connected, contributing” means for individuals and for the rights of all disabled people.
