In Scotland, we’re not often comfortable with expressing pride. We worry that we’ll come across as show-offs. Or that pride really does come before a fall and we’ll be brought down a peg or two.
But it’s not about boasting and thinking you’re better than other people. Often it’s about admitting how hard you found something. Pride doesn’t come from the things we’ve found easy.
So we want to know, what makes you proud?
It could be a big thing like seeing your art on the walls of an exhibition, or a seemingly little thing like speaking up when someone said something that offends you.
Maybe you’ve learned to do something new, you’ve improved your health or you’ve worked with other people to achieve something in your community.
Or it could be your identity: your nationality, your sexual orientation, whatever makes you “you”.
Whatever makes you proud, we want to hear about it and share it with the world. You can write about it, make a film, take a picture, whatever you want to tell your story.
