“I remember” : Jane Chisholm reads her poem about life in Glasgow

Our Community Correspondent Jane Chisholm has written poetry for most of her life, but it’s only recently that she’s felt confident sharing it.

Most of her poems were tucked away in drawers for nobody to see, but they helped her through some of the darkest times in her life. When you hear her read this reminiscence on the old way of life in Glasgow, you’ll understand why we’re so glad she’s decided to share it with the world.

It’s a nostalgic piece, full of colour and details that Glasgow people of all ages will recognise.

The image that accompanies it is by fellow Community Correspondent and artist David. Both were supported by GAMH’s Life Stories project to share their memories.
