‘Truly happy memories in a fragile family dynamic’ – Community Correspondent Laura explores our theme of home and wellbeing

A post from our Community Correspondent Laura McGlinn, taking a unique and insightful perspective on our brand new Mind Waves theme of ‘home and wellbeing’.

As a child we would go to the Kelvingrove Exhibition Centre for the Ideal Home Show. Mum, dad, my little brother and I. It made for some truly happy memories in a fragile family dynamic. Losing my dad just there at Christmas, and my mum not even seven years before him, leaves you with reflection.

The food fayre was delicious, scrummy and all those free tasters! Stock up on pens, bags and the latest demo gadget for the kitchen. Have a chuckle at the sales banter. And why does salad seem appealing when you see it chopped nine different ways!?

It’s hard to do these things when money is so tight, but I have personally have used this offer for FREE one day tickets, including child tickets places too (I just love Martin Money Saving Expert). So grab those tickets and have a great time!

This is my twist on the theme ‘home’, where a family once made ‘treasured memories’ that will stay with me forever.

If you have something to say as part of our current theme then we’d love to hear from you. Tweet or DM us @MindWaves1 or get in touch via the website.
