How do money worries affect your mental health? And how can mental ill health make you poorer?
Mind Waves is a Glasgow charity that supports people to build their skills and share their stories and opinions. We have been funded by the See Me Anti-Stigma Arts Fund to delivery our brand new podcasting project. We’re currently recruiting volunteers to form our podcast editorial team – could this role be for you?
You’ll be fully supported to produce, edit and publish a podcast that explores the many ways that poverty, mental health and stigma can affect each other. The project will be run by our Mind Waves facilitators who put participation, inclusion and the voices of lived experience at the heart of their work.
Benefits
- Free training in podcasting skills, like interviewing, recording and editing
- Travel expenses to attend meetings, training and interviews
- Launching the series at a celebration event
- All technical equipment and software provided for activities
Commitment
This is a nine month project. During that time, we’d expect volunteers to be available to:
- Attend four half-day training workshops
- Be part of a monthly editorial meeting (dates/times to be agreed with group)
- Choose a role in producing the series. This could include interviewing people, editing or promoting the podcast.
Dates for your diary
Our initial training dates are provisionally scheduled as follows (central Glasgow venue to be confirmed):
- Wed 23 April 10.30-12.30
- Wed 30 April 10.30-12.30
- Wed 7 May 10.30-12.30
- Wed 14 May 10.30-12.30
After these sessions, we agree dates/times for our monthly editorial meetings together as a group. Interviewing, recording, editing, etc can be done flexibly/remotely and we can support your arrangements for this.
