‘Diverted’ is still essential viewing during this year’s #AutismAwarenessWeek

It’s #AutismAwarenessWeek2019 and we are re-sharing ‘Diverted’, a short film from the National Autistic Society, starring Saskia Lupin which was part of last year’s TMI campaign. It takes us on the journey of a young woman getting ready for the day ahead and anticipating the daily commute, something which many of us take for granted each morning.

This is a powerful insight into how overwhelming everyday activities can be for someone with Autism. Fear of judgement about this can make things even worse. By taking the time to understand how anxiety-inducing the prospect of unexpected changes can be, we might be able to help make someone’s life that little bit easier – whether a family member, colleague, friend or neighbour.
