Seasons: how do the changing cycles of the year affect your wellbeing? Our next theme

The concept of seasons has never been far from our minds this year, having affected our plans and featured in our everyday conversations even more than usual! So far 2018 has seen us emerge from an unusually harsh and prolonged winter into one of the hottest summers on record.

The changing cycles of the year can have a huge impact on how we feel about ourselves and the world around us. We want to hear your stories, experiences and opinions on the topic. Here are some prompts to get you thinking. You needn’t feel limited to these areas, but they might be food for thought:

– Weather. Does summer sunshine automatically boost your mood? Or are you already happily anticipating the nights drawing in and crisp autumn days?

– Memories. Do particular seasons evoke memories from your childhood and adolesence or remind you of certain people or events?

– Nature. How do your interactions with the natural world, perhaps in your garden or on your walk to work, change with the seasons?

– Rituals. Do you mark particular seasonal events in interesting ways, either alone or with others?

-Health. How do the seasons affect your habits, appetite and energy levels?

If you’d like to share a story, opinion, video, photo, cartoon, or another means of expressing your ideas, then get in touch or tweet us @MindWaves1. We’ll be publishing season-related blogs for the next month or so, as well as chatting about it on a future episode of our podcast. Watch this space!
