Scotland’s Film Festival, with a twist

The Scottish Mental Health, Arts and Film Festival is in full swing.  Now in its 6th year, it is a diverse event encompassing music, film, visual art, dance, literature and theatre!  There are an enormous range of different groups and people involved hoping to challenge preconceived ideas about mental health through the different events.  You can download the brochure here to see if there is something that catches your fancy.

There is also another option: MindReel .  MindReel is a pilot project led by IRISS (the Institute for Research and Innovation in Social Services) with the University of Strathclyde – it uses educational films addressing a wide range of issues as an educational resource and has made them freely available online.  You can find out more, and watch the films, on their website:  www.mindreel.org.uk

The Mind Waves team will be reporting back on some of the events we’ve attended along the way.
